Senior Sales Manager - China(Shanghai) or Hong Kong - Ascend
Due to the continued growth of Ascend’s business in China and the rapid development of the Chinese aviation market, we are now seeking an experienced business development manager to grow and manage all revenue streams from our existing client base, to drive new sales initiatives and raise the profile of Ascend in China. The successful candidate will be a consummate and credible sales professional selling highly regarded aviation advisory services and information products to a varied and professional client base. This is an exciting, challenging and autonomous role which offers the successful applicant the opportunity to take ownership in developing the China business of a rapidly expanding international company.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new income for China to an agreed annual target
- Presenting Ascend to potential clients through direct communication in face to face meetings, presentations, telephone calls, emails and attending conferences
- Travel extensively throughout China with regular trips to Hong Kong and London .
- Actively and successfully manage the sales process: initiate leads, generate upselling/cross-selling; credentials pitching; solutions pitching; negotiating long term deals; building long term business relationships; closing and renewing
- Ensuring Ascend remains proactive and responsive to both existing and prospective clients
Other duties and responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining an extensive pipeline and ensuring all sales administration is current using Saleforce.com CRM
- Work closely with other departments in both Hong Kong and London to ensure clear and accurate transition of projects – especially with the Support and Consultancy teams.
- Keeping the company fully up-to-date with all the issues affecting the aviation sector.
- Keeping a database of competitor intelligence relevant and accessible.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
- Proven track record and demonstrable full knowledge of the sales process
- Confident negotiator and ability to ‘close the deal’
- Posses drive, motivation and acute attention to detail in ensuring all sales opportunities are captured and explored
- Asset financing/leasing experience is highly beneficial
- Strong client management skills and ability to keep to tight deadlines.
- Ability to solve problems and offer solutions by thinking laterally and generating ideas.
- A positive and determined approach to researching and analysing new business opportunities
- Ability to use own initiative cope with competing demands and to prioritise tasks.
- Strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email, telephone, and presentation
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- A positive attitude to dealing with people

-Ability to understand when and how to seek support from management, analysts and consultants for complex large pitches and strategies
Qualifications
- 5 years sales experience in consultancy/solution sales
- Fluent in both Putonghua and English
- Degree and above
- Ability to travel in China and internationally
